Walter “Mike” Glascock, 87 WWII Army Veteran Dies In Farmville

GREEN BAY, May 13 – Walter Clarence “Mike” Glascock, 87, of Green Bay, passed away Sun-day, May 11, 2008, at Centra Southside Community Hospital, Farmville. He was a WWII veteran in Africa, Italy, France, and Germany in the 62nd Signal Battalion from 1942 thru 1945. Returning home from the war, he and his brothers continued the operation of the Glascock Orchard for over 50 years.

He was an active, lifelong member of Liberty Christian Church of Green Bay and served in many positions in the church throughout his lifetime.

Mr. Glascock was survived by his wife of 55 years, Sarah Driskill Glascock; two sons, Michael C. of Wakefield and Berryman Glascock of Green Bay, and their wives, Ruth and Teresa, respectively; grandsons, Nathan, Stephen, and Matthew, and granddaughter, Erin; sisters, Virginia G. Sunday and Frances G. Rickman of Richmond; a brother, William A. and sister-in-law, Christine Glascock of Burkeville.

Family will receive friends Tuesday (today), May 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Browning Funeral Home.

The funeral will be held at Liberty Christian Church in Green Bay at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Interment will follow at the church's cemetery.
