FALLS CHURCH, Nov. 3 – Victoria Katherine Ash McCormick, of Falls Church, born September 4, 1946, left our lives on Sunday, June 21, 2009.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Elizabeth McCormick; grandson, Bryan Aubrey McCormick of Blacksburg; nieces, Peggy McCormick Teague and husband, Clyde Jr., their children, Heather N., Joshua A., and Trinity V. Teague all of Blackstone, Angela Summerfield and husband, Kevin of Colonial Heights, and Johnna Miner and husband, Tommy of West Greenwich, RI; nephews, Ronnie McCormick and wife, Debbie of Hopewell, and Joey McCormick and wife, Frieda of Richmond; five great-nephews, one great-niece, and two great-great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Juliet Elaine McCormick of Blacksburg, nephew, Stephen Eugene McCormick of Victoria, father, Charles Baron Ash, Master Sergeant US Army of California, and mother, Irene Anna Sharpley, Private US Marine Corps, Falls Church.

She was a 1969 graduate of Ferrum College and a 1980 graduate of Radford College with a B.A. in sociology and History, with a minor in English, and a Master's in History. She worked 23 years for the Department of Defense at the Pentagon.

Her family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, at the Shorter Funeral Home, 1905 South Main Street, Farmville, where services will be conducted in the Chapel at 1 p.m., Saturday, with interment to follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice.
