BURKEVILLE, April 23 – Troy Richard Linville Sr., 87, of Burkeville, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 in Farmville. He was the husband of the late Gracie Bowman Linville.

Born in North Carolina, Mr. Linville was the son of the late Robert and Nicey Marion Linville and was retired from VDOT.

Survivors include his son, Troy Richard Linville Jr. of Manquin; daughters, Margaret Queen of Richmond and Janet Crawford of Cumberland; sisters, Josephine Chenault and Myrtle Cole, both of North Carolina; granddaughters, Sue Taylor, Jennifer Hassler and Lessie Dobbs; grandsons, Scott Hassler and Travis Linville; niece, Linda Campbell; many additional grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice, with the Rev. Earl Wallace officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home and other times at the home of his sister-in-law, Lois Linville, 27095 Prince Edward Highway, Rice.
