BUCKINGHAM, Dec. 29 – Treva Ann Jent passed away early Friday morning, December 25, 2009 at her residence in Buckingham County. She was born December 16, 1942 in Gary, Indiana, a daughter of Owen Harris and Ethyl Price Harris.
She spent most of her early years residing in St. Bernice, Indiana, where she was Valedictorian of her graduating class. Most of her work career was spent as an executive secretary for law firms, but most importantly, she spent her years as a loving wife, Mother and friend.
Surviving are her husband, Dallas Jent, who gave her love, life and happiness for 42 years; daughter, Rebecca Ann Wood (Lacy) of Arvonia; sons, Larry and Marion Jent, also of Buckingham County; granddaughter, and name sake, Treva Rose Wood; grandson Cameron Jent; sons, Brian Jent of Texas, David Jent of Missouri, and Bradley Jent of Arkansas; brothers, Kent Harris (Judy), Terre Haute, of IN and Dean (Sally), Clinton, IN, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Jent was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church, and was awarded a pin of honor from the church in recognition of over 21 years for her work as a member of the United Methodist Women's Group. She was also a very active member in all the communities where she resided through her life, volunteering in nursing homes, helping those in need, and always making someone's day brighter.
Mrs. Jent will be very much missed by all who loved her, but she is now in a wonderful place with the Lord, where she shall not have to suffer with pain any longer. She wished for two new feet for Christmas. Not only did she get her wish, but she received a pair of wings as well.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday at Salem United Methodist Church in Buckingham, with the Rev. Billy Swan officiating. Burial was held in the adjacent Salem Cemetery.
Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, served the family.
