Ruth V. Metzger, 93 Of Goldsboro, NC Buried in Cumberland

GOLDSBORO, NC, May 13 -Ruth Veit Metzger, 93, of Goldsboro, NC, died Monday, May 3, 2004 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
She was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Charles F. and Jennie Seigfried Veit and was married to the late U.S. Navy Commander John Kurtz Metzger.
A member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, she served as a member of the Chancel Choir, In-Saints Alive Chorus and the Carrillion Hand Bells. She was also a member of the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Officer Wives Club, the Goldsboro Retired Officer Wives Club and the Retired Officers of Goldsboro Association.
She is survived by one daughter, Jean Hubbard of Goldsboro; one son, Gary Metzger; a grandson and good friend, Betty Holloman.
Memorial services were held May 6 a Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Dulaney officiating. Graveside services were held May 7 In Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cumberland County.
