DILLWYN, April 22 – Robert H. Benart, 78, a brick mason, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at UVA Hospital.

He was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 5, 1925.

Mr. Benart was very proud of his band. Spears Mountain Band and his Central VA Chimney Liner business.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Alien Benart; three daughters, Kimberlee and husband, Peter Sagay of Las Vegas, NV, Tane Potter and husband, Bob of Ladysmith and Misty Coles and husband, Mike of Concord; one son, Robby Benart and wife, Jane of Charlottesvllle; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one stepdaughter, Janice Turner and husband, Roy of Wingina; three stepsons, Rickie Allen and wife, Robin, Danny Allen and wife, Annette all of Dillwyn and Dennis Allen and wife, Debbie of Cumberland; 15 step grandchildren; four great-step grandchildren and one brother, Donald Benart of Yucapa, CA.

Graveside services will be held 12 noon Saturday in Rocky Mount Church Cemetery, Dillwyn. Family and friends will meet after the service in the church recreation building for lunch and fellowship.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn.
