Richard P. Clark Prince Edward Native Dies Tuesday

LYNCHBURG, May 6 – Richard Payne dark died Tuesday, May 4, 2004. He was the husband of Caroline Bargamin Clark and is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Born August 16, 1921 in Prince Edward County at “Ingleside”, the ancestral Watkins Home, he was a son of the late John Alexander and Susie Evans Watkins Clark.

He was a graduate of Black-stone Military Academy and was a US Air Force Veteran, having served in the CBI Theater during World War II. He was retired from Campbell Insurance Agency and a member of Rivermont Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Susie Clark Billings; three brothers, John Alexander Clark, Jr., Henry Watkins Clark and James Thomas Clark.

A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday In Spring Hill Cemetery by the Rev. John Mabray.
