DILLWYN, July 24 – Ray Lemuel Duty Sr., 71, of Dillwyn, died Monday, July 21, 2008 in a Charlottesville hospital. He was born February 12, 1937 in Buckingham County, the son of the late Charlie L. Duty and Rosie Amos Duty and widower of Nathalie Nuckols Duty. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Duty.

He is survived by a son, Ray Duty Jr. and wife, Allison of Dillwyn; daughter, Karla Lee Ellington of Crewe; sister, Rose Marie Calhoun of Dillwyn; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church with interment in the Amos Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday (today) from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dillwyn Fire Department or the Buckingham County Rescue Squad.
