MEHERRIN – Rachel Meredith Bruce, 54, of Meherrin, died Thursday, August 26, 2010. She was a much loved mother, aunt, and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carroll and Alvia Bruce, and a brother, Raymond Bruce.

Ms. Bruce enjoyed spoiling her children, Sarah Trammell-Hurtt and husband, Kenneth, Mary Trammell, Elizabeth Trammell and Sam “Bubba” Trammell III. To add to her joy, she doted on her grandchildren, Seth Johnson, Trey Johnson and Jasmine Trammell. She will be greatly missed by her sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Grege Early, and their children, Matthew, Cynthia, Jennifer and James Early. A special place was held in her heart for her nieces and nephew, Bonnie Hudson, Connie Daly and Eric Bruce. She leaves behind a host of relatives and wonderful friends whom she loved, laughed with, and enjoyed.

A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, August 29, at 4063 Germantown Road, Meherrin.

The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home, Keysville, was in charge of arrangements.
