Percy Weldon Bowles, 76

PAMPLIN, June 30 – Percy Weldon Bowles, 76 of Pamplin died peacefully at his home Fri-day, June 26, 2009 with his family at his side. He was born March 14, 1933, the son of the late Ronald and Lelia Gallier Bowles of Pamplin. Mr. Bowles served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois Finch Bowles; three daughters, Jo Anne Wilkins and Rick, Jane Hamlett and husband, Willie and Janet McCraw and husband, Chip; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronald Bowles Jr. of Farmville and Raymond Bowles of Salem and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Monday at College Church in Hampden-Sydney with interment in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to College Church or to Hospice of the Hills.
Puckett Funeral Home, Farmville, was in charge of arrangements.
