AUGUST 25 – Pearl Higgins Tipton, 71, of Farmville, died Thursday, August 20, 2009 in Lynchburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carse Tipton; son, Eugene Tipton; parents, William E. and Bonnie E. Higgins; brother, Larry Higgins; and grandchild, Tony Shores.

She is survived by a grandson, Gary T. Hunter of Farmville; sister, Rita Smith of Erwin, TN; brothers, Gene Higgins and Kenneth Higgins, both of Erwin, TN, Jackson Higgins and wife, Laura of Bluff City, TN and Toney Higgins and wife, Linda of Erwin, TN; and a special friend, Joyce Grant and the Grant family of Farmville.

A graveside funeral service was conducted Sunday in the Tipton Family Cemetery in Farmville.

The Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville, served the family.
