Paul Winfrey Cave, 75 Of Farmville Dies February 19

FEBRUARY 24 – Paul Winfrey Cave, 75, died Thursday, February 19, 2009 in Farmville. He was born November 2, 1933 to Charles Wesley and Bessie Hurt Cave in New Canton.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Peggy Shupe Cave; three children, Cynthia Louise Cave of Suffolk, Charles Mark Cave and wife, Patricia Gail Yeatts Cave of Farmville and Kimberly Virginia Cave of Richmond; grandchildren, Michelle Nicole Cave of Williams-burg, Sarah Elizabeth Cave and Charlotte Marian Dalton Cave of Farmville.

Mr. Cave attended University of Richmond. He was signed to play professional baseball by the Boston Braves and played in their minor league clubs for ten years. Since coming to Farmville in 1959, he has been an active member of Farmville Baptist Church. He enjoyed his activities with the Prince Edward County Ruritan Club. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. He was employed with Johns Equipment Company later known as Mid-Atlantic Irrigation Company.

A funeral service was held Sunday, Feb. 22, at Farmville Baptist Church with interment in Westview Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Farmville Baptist Church, Fuqua School, Prince Edward County Rescue Squad or to Patrick Henry Boys Home.

Puckett Funeral Home, Farmville, was in charge of arrangements.
