Norman R. Jenkins, 81 Of Chase City Dies Sunday, July 5

CHASE CITY, July 7 – Norman R. Jenkins, 81, of Chase City, died Sunday, July 5, 2009.

He was an Army veteran, a member of South Hill American Legion, and was a former owner and operator of Jenkins Amoco in Boydton and retired from Mecklenburg Correctional Center.

Mr. Jenkins was the widower of Irene Hatchell Jenkins and was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Kenneth Jenkins, Chester Jenkins, Ruth Byrd and Dessie Gilbert.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Dan Duvall of Meherrin; and sisters, Faye Seamans and Syble Adams of Chase City.

The family will receive friends Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Wood Funeral Service, with services to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park, LaCrosse.
