MAY 22 – Mrs. Vera Holmes Daniel Puckett, 92 of Farmville, formerly of Brookneal, passed away Wednesday evening, May 21, 2008 in Farmville. She was born September 4, 1915, the daughter of the late Charles and Dora Holland Daniel. She was the widow of Jack M. Puckett.

Mrs. Puckett is survived by her son, Charles Puckett and wife, Penny of Farmville; grandsons, Dayton Puckett and wife, Toni and Daniel Puckett and wife, Brandy all of Farmville; great-granddaughter, Hadley Puckett of Farmville; and sisters, Bridie Bradley and Evelyn Joy both of the Brookneal area, Arie Elder of Buckingham and Jo Scott also of Brookneal. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond, Leslie, Hudson and Melvin Daniel and her sisters, Estelle Mason, Minnie Unrue and Jerelene Daniel.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, May 25, at 3 p.m. at Falling River Baptist Church in Brookneal with interment in the church cemetery.

Family will receive friends Saturday evening 7-8:30 p.m. at the Puckett Funeral Home and Sunday 2-3 p.m. at the Falling River Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Prince Edward County Rescue Squad or to the Hospice of Virginia.
