MARYLAND, Dec. 17 – Mildred Dell McQuilkin was born in Lunenburg County, Meherrin, on October 20, 1925 to the late James and Jessie Jackson.

She entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 29, 2009 in the Maryland General Hospital, Baltimore, MD, after having endured a very lengthy illness.

She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Dennis McQuilkin who preceded her in death on October 22, 1986.

She leaves to cherish her memories a son, Malcolm McQuilkin; three sisters, Evelyn, Gladys and Hazel; brother, Ray; grandson, Andre Ray; step-daughter, Bernice McQuilkin; aunt, Helen Jackson; two sisters-in-law, Rosa Jackson and Rene Jackson; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other family members and friends.

A funeral service was held December 4 from the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Anthony Jackson officiating.
