DILLWYN, July 29 – Mickie (Sis) Taylor Newton, 84, of Dillwyn, died Saturday, July 26, 2008 in a Charlottesville hospital. She was born November 4, 1924 in Buckingham County, the daughter of the late Lee Taylor and Ebella Banton Taylor, and widow of Carl Winston Newton. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Hallie Taylor and Luther Lee Taylor, and great-granddaughter, Kimberly Edwards.

She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Edward and husband, Charles of Dillwyn; a son, Robert Newton and wife, Phillis of Scottsville; two grandchildren, Daryle Edwards and wife, Melissa of Dillwyn and Brad Edwards and wife, Tina of Dillwyn; four great-grandchildren, Brooke, Amanda, Emily, and Brayden.

Funeral services were held Tuesday (today) at the Dunkum Funeral Home with interment in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Buckingham County Rescue Squad.
