Memorial Tribute Set Wednesday For Claiborne Johnson, 65

DILLWYN, Jan. 27 – Claiborne Randolph Johnson, of Dillwyn, died Friday, January 23, 2004.

Born December 11, 1938, he is survived by his wife. Ruby; three children, Derdick, Rhonda and Kelly; four grandchildren, Darrick, Deionna, Jamal and Jayda; three children-in-law, Whitney, John and Mark; his mother, Dorothy L. Johnson; his sister, Rachel Pringle and a host of other relatives and friends.

A member of Fork Union Baptist Church of Buckingham, he was a family man and educator, serving as principal of Gold Hill Elementary for 25 years. He gave generously of his time to his church and his fraternity, Omega Psi Phi, Inc.

A memorial tribute service will be held Wednesday, January 28 at 7 p.m. with home going services to be held Thursday, January 29 at 2 p.m. Both services will be held at Fork Union Baptist Church, Buckingham.
