Memorial Service For Jesse H. Griffin, 77 To Be Held In Alabama

ALABAMA, Dec. 17 – Jesse Hughes Griffin, 77, of Montgomery died Sunday, December 13, 2009, in Tuscaloosa, AL. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL.
He was born on February 7, 1932, in Buckingham County, the son of the late Harry Egbert Griffin Sr. and the late Ruth Carter Oliver Griffin.
Surviving are three daughters, Paige Griffin Cowen (Bryan Cowen) of Chelsea, AL, Stacey L. Griffin of Columbus, GA, and Hayden Griffin Sebert (Frank Sebert) of Helena, AL; grand-child, Kellen Cowen; sister, Mary Griffin Wilkerson of Farmville, and brother, John Porter Griffin of Buckingham County. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Audrey Grant Griffin.
The family requests memorial donations in his name be made to the UAB Alzheimer's Disease Center, Attn: Tom Brannan, 350E SC, 1530 3rd Ave. So. Birmingham, AL 35294-0017
Family and friends will gather for a memorial service in the main sanctuary at First Baptist Church, 305 South Perry Street, Montgomery, AL at 11 a.m. on Saturday, with the Rev. Jay Wolf officiating.
A private graveside service for family will be at Mt. Creek Baptist Church Cemetery on December 19, with the Rev. Moneka A. Thompson officiating.
Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
