RICE, Jan. 29 – Maryanna Manning Schuchman, 49, of Rice, died Sunday, January 25, 2009 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville. She was the wife of Robert Schuchman.

Born April 27, 1959, in Jackson, NC, she was retired after over 20 years of service in the US Air Force. She earned her Master's Degree from Weyland Baptist University and was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Glynn Manning Sr. and Dorothy Pierce Manning, and two brothers, Howard G. Manning Jr. and John D. Manning.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Hunter Schuchman and Matthew Schuchman; sisters, Della M. Spiratos, Annie Roslyn Manning, Theresa M. Crenshaw, Marilyn Manning Davis and Jaqueline Manning Williams and two brothers, Lenward Lester Manning and Joel Amos Manning.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, Jan. 31, at Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. Earl Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
