MAY 7 – Mary James Lawrence, 91, of Farmville, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009 in Farmville. She was the widow of Charlie P. Lawrence.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary C. Tiegs of Worthington, MN; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; niece, Gail Schenck of Crewe; two sisters-in-law, Bea Ellett of Crewe and Evelyn Lawrence of Farmville; special friends, Betty Queensberry and family, and her extended church family.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Fri-day, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery, Meherrin.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the church prior to the service.
