JULY 27 – Mary Frances Abbott Stockton, 77, of Farmvllle, died Friday, July 23, 2004 at Southslde Community Hospital following a courageous battle with heart problems and cancer.

She was born March 28, 1927 In Rice, a daughter of the late Newton T. Abbott and Minnie T. Abbott. She was also preceded In death by a brother, Edmond T. Abbott.

Mrs. Stockton was a retired office nurse for several local physicians, and a member of Bethpeor Baptist Church where she served as pianist and Sunday School teacher prior to her illnesses.

She is survived by her husband of over 55 years, Ronald W. Stockton; one daughter, Rhonda S. Rowland and her husband, the Rev. Dr. Michael A. Rowland all of Farmvllle.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Shorter Funeral Home with interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens.
