OCTOBER 15 – Margaret Ann Evans Jones, 72, departed this life on Sunday, October 11, 2009. She was born on April 11, 1937 in Prince Edward County to Robert and Lelia Allen Evans.

She was known for her cooking, sewing and work with the Prince Edward County Schools.

Mrs. Jones was married to Waymon Jones for 52 years and together they had three children, Bryant Keith (who pre-ceded her in death), Frieda Louise of Bronx, NY, and Waymon Jr. (Jennifer) of Prospect. Other survivors are: 11 grand-children; two sisters, Marian Evans Jackson of Farmville and Mamie Evans West of Glenside, PA; an aunt, Emma Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Wit-nesses in Meherrin.
