APRIL 27 – Mamie Gibson Hodges, 91, of Farmville, died Monday, April 26, 2004 In Blackstone.

She was born November 16, 1912 in Charlotte County, a daughter of the late John R. and Roberta Jackson Gibson. She was the widow of Moss D. Hodges.

She is survived by her sons, David L. Hodges of Colonial Heights and John Deward Hodges of Port Aransas, Texas;

her sister, Josephine Nelson of Charlotte Court House; four grandchildren, David Hodges, Jr., Eric Hodges, Chris Hodges and Cheryl Fortier: six great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel of Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville, with interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens.<br />
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
