DECEMBER 8 – Mary “Mabel” Adeline Cole Wilkerson, 80, of Farmville passed away Monday, December 7, 2009 in Farmville. She was born January 6, 1929 in Charlotte County, the daughter of the late John Edgar and Lillie Viry Cole.

She was retired from ARAMARK Food Services at Hampden-Sydney College and was a member of College Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, a special niece, Teresa H. Adams and husband, Jimmy and a sister-in-law, Doris W. Hatcher and husband, Houston. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert Trent Wilkerson, sister, Margie Cole Johnson and brothers, Johnny, James and Woodson Cole.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home with interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens in Rice.

Family will receive friends Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Prince Edward Co. Rescue Squad or to College Presbyterian Church.
