Louise T. Foster, 90 Area Native Dies in West Virginia

BEAVER, WV, Nov. 4 – Louise Torrence Foster, 90, of Beaver, WV, died Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at Heartland Nursing Home
She was born January 29, 1914 in Appomattox, the daughter of the late Samuel Earlie Torrence and Lucy Chernault Torrence.
Mrs. Foster was a member of Farmville United Methodist Church and was retired from the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service.
She is survived by daughters, Joyce Foster Elkins and husband, John of Beaver, WV and Janice Foster Cooper and husband, Charles of Hephzibah, GA; a sister, Bertha Torrence Dickerson of Richmond and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Monroe Foster; siblings, Ruby Myrle Torrence Gilliam, Lacy Earlie Torrence, Gracie Lyle Torrence Thomas, Mary Verlena Torrence Newman, Garland Edward Torrence, Sarah Lorene Torrence Richardson and Nannie Sue Torrence.
The family will receive friends this evening (Thursday) from 7 to 9 p.m. at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, WV.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Friday in Westview Cemetery, Farmvllle, with the Rev. Skip Torrence officiating.
