OCTOBER 9 – Leona Watson Scruggs, 74, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 in Farmville. She was born February 2, 1934, in Appomattox, the daughter of the late William Irvy and Isabel Day Watson. She was the widow of Timothy Lindberg Scruggs. Also preceding her in death was her son, Timothy Lindberg Scruggs II.

She is survived by her sons, Michael D. Scruggs and wife, Linda of Woodbridge and Willie I. Scruggs of Nokesville; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruby W. Rosen and husband, Howard of Buckingham, Elois W. Woodard and husband, Wayne of Bentonville, and Louise W. Jamerson of Buckingham; and a special friend, Howard Stanley of Buckingham.

Funeral services will be held at Dunkum Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on Friday, with interment in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family will receive friends on Thursday (today) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
