NEW YORK, March 5 – John R. Thompson, 85, formerly of Rice, died Thursday, February 26, 2009 in Bronx, NY.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Gravel Hill Baptist Church of Jetersville with interment in the Star Hope Cemetery, Rice.

Public viewing will be Friday from noon to 7 p.m.

Bland-Reid Funeral Home, Farmville, is in charge of services.
