CARTERSVILLE, Sept. 11 – John William Mayo Sr., 85, of Cartersville, departed this life on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 in Richmond.

He is survived by his loving and devoted children, John Jr. (Dorothy), Curtis (Althea), Terry (Gwendolyn), Rev. Larry Mayo (Vicey), Rose McClinton and Patricia Hilliard (Ronnie); two brothers, George Mayo and Samuel Goode (Debbie); a sister, Louise Streat; two sisters-in-law, Louise Maxwell and Minnie Trent; a brother-in-law, John “Buddy” Streat; other relatives and friends.

His remains rest at Marian Gray Thomas Funeral Home where family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Little Fork Baptist Church, Cartersville, with the Rev. Larry Mayo, pastor officiating with interment in the church cemetery.
