John Humerick

JULY 7 – John Humerick, born in Thurmont, Maryland, February 14, 1926, the son of Hubert Alanzo and Laura Amanda Humerick, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, July 6, 2009. John resided in Farmville.

John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be remembered fondly by his family and friends. He was a veteran of World War II and served his country proudly in the Navy aboard the SS Schroeder.

John is survived by his wife of 55 years Edna F. Humerick; his children, Carol A. Offutt, J. David Humerick, and Lisa D. Stream and husband, Robert E. Stream; grandchildren, Benjamin Pixley, Laura Pixley, Jon Humerick, Allison Stream, Rachel Humerick, Emily Stream and Kelly Stream who all knew him simply as “Pappy”; sisters Margaret Cooper and Janey Ecker and also many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. John was predeceased by his daughter, Jacqueline K. Pixley, six brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at Stauffer's Funeral Home in Thurmont, Maryland Saturday July 11 at 11 a.m.

Family will have a viewing July 10, from 2-4 p.m. and receive friends from 7-9 p.m. at the Stauffer's Funeral Home.
