CUMBERLAND, Nov. 24 – Jesse Claybourne Witherspoon, 88, of Cumberland, departed this life on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 in Richmond.

He is survived by his devoted nephew, George Armwood and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

His remains rest at Marian Gray Thomas Funeral Home.

Funeral services and interment were held Monday in the Chapel of the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia. The Rev. Maurice Finney, officiated.
