Janet S. Blosser, 71 Of Dillwyn Dies December 14

DILLWYN, Dec. 15 – Janet Shenk Blosser, 71, wife of Douglas E. Blosser, of Dillwyn, passed away Monday, December 14, 2009 at her home. She was born in Luray on January 12, 1938, the daughter of A. Benton Shenk and Nellie P. Shenk and the twin sister of Janice S. Kummer. Mrs. Blosser was a devoted member of Buckingham Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas E. Blosser of the home; two sons, Steven W. Blosser and wife, Sharon and Gavin D. Blosser and friend, Morgan Lo Romer; two grand-children, Adam Blosser and Rachel Blosser; three brothers, Kirby Shenk, Joe Shenk, and Jackie Shenk; four sisters, Jean Jauer, Janice Kummer, Shirley Blosser and Maxine Sullivan and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Nellie Shenk; three brothers, Amos Shenk, Thomas Shenk and Bobby Shenk; and five sisters, Laura Mae Knott, Martha Shenk, Thelma Adamson, Doris Shenk and Louise Good.

Funeral services will be held at Buckingham Baptist Church on December 17 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Long and Adam Blosser officiating.

The family will receive friends December 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the church and other times at the home.
