DILLWYN, April 22 – Herbert A. Lann Sr., of Dillwyn, died Saturday, April 19, 2008. He was the son of the late Nick M. Lann and Ruby Whorley Lann. He was preceded in death by his wife, Selma, five brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Hall and son-in-law, Jeffrey of Midlothian; a son, Herbert Lann Jr. and daughter-in-law, Susie of Dillwyn; a granddaughter, Tracie Lann of Dillwyn; and two step-grandchildren, Jessica and Kristen Hall of Richmond; and a sister, Elizabeth Plunkett of Indiana.

Mr. Lann was a retired foreman of the Kyanite Mining Corporation for 35 years.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 22, at Dunkum Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with interment in the Buckingham Community Cemetery. Special, longtime friend of the family, Buddy Bryant, of Gladstone, presided over the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Buckingham County Rescue Squad.
