BUCKINGHAM, August 17 -Helen Keefer Carter, 75, of Buckingham, died Monday, August 16, 2004 at her home.

She was the daughter of the late Rowemack and Oria Louise Athey Keefer. She was the widow of Robert Jackson Carter and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Oria Louise Jones.

She is survived by three daughters, Peggy Browning of Stafford, Helen M. Leighty of Buckingham and Evelyn Brown of Houston, Texas and their husbands; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, with interment in the Sterling Cemetery in Sterling at 2:30 p.m.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
