NORTH CAROLINA, Sept. 25 – Hazel R. Conwell, 80, of Roanoke Rapids, NC, died Friday, September 19, 2008 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Mrs. Conwell was a native of Halifax County. She was the daughter of Eugene and Geneva Robinson of Roanoke Rapids. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Thomas Conwell and two brothers, Harold and William Robinson.

Mrs. Conwell is survived by three sons, Steven Larry Conwell Sr. and wife, Marie of Farmville, Forrest Wayne Conwell of Florida, and Randall Thomas Conwell of North Carolina; a daughter, Katherine Gayle Conwell of North Carolina; six grandchildren, Larry and wife, Jessi of Prospect, Mark and wife, Renee of Keysville, Gina Conwell of Farmville, Michael and Trey King of Florida, and Shannon Williams and husband, James of North Carolina; and nine great-grandchildren.

The services were held Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the Chapel of Askew Funeral Home with the Pastors Steven L. Conwell Sr. and Rick Gaskins officiating.

Burial followed at the Cedar Wood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
