CARTERSVILLE, Aug. 25 – Harold Gene Sutton, 78, of Cartersville, departed this life suddenly Saturday, August 22, 2009.

Born March 17, 1931 in Cartersville, he was preceded in death by his father, Hildie Sutton and mother, Dora Sutton, and brothers, Bobby Sutton and Dale Sutton.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Sutton; four children, Sandra (Frank) Watson of Cartersville, Mimi (David) Sloan of Cumberland, Joey (Kellee) Sutton of Cartersville, and Ann Sutton of Richmond; 10 grandchildren, Scotty (Naomy) Bottomley, April (Jeremy) Phillips, Jacqueline Dispinnette, Whitney (James) Graham, Angela Sloan, Katherine Sloan, Edmond (Pam) Sutton, Jessica Sutton, Bridgette Williams, and Kyle Williams; brothers, Billy (Ilona) Sutton and Jerry Sutton; sister, Diana Shannon; eight great-grandchildren; scores of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Mr. Sutton was the retired founder and owner of Sutton Brothers Painting of Richmond.

The family will have a memorial service Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cartersville Baptist Church.
