DILLWYN, July 29 – Gerald Phaup Stinson, of Dillwyn, passed away Thursday morning, July 24, 2008. He was born in Farmville on May 6, 1946.

He was retired from the Marine Corps and the Boilermaker Local 45. The last few years of his life have been spent with his family and tending to his farm.

Mr. Stinson is survived by his wife, Donna Stinson; daughter and son-in-law, Lindsay and Britt Hopkins; son, John Stinson; and two granddaughters, Langston and Mary Reeves Hopkins.

The funeral service was held at Quantico National Cemetery on Monday, July 28.

The family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Virginia or the American Cancer Society.

Puckett Funeral Home, Farmville, was in charge of arrangements.
