Fay C. Mottley, 73

JUNE 9 – Fay Chenault Mottley, 73, of Farmville, died Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the VCU Medical Center in Richmond.

Born October 28, 1935 in Appomattox, she was the daughter of the late Samuel E. and Willie Mann Chenault. She was retired as a Supervisor with Amelia Dress Company.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Billy, Bobby, Bud and Gene Chenault and her twin sister, Kay C. Webber.

She is survived by her husband, Kirby R. Mottley Sr.; son, Kirby Mottley Jr., daughters, Shirley Robertson and husband, Irvin, Eugenia “Jean” Mottley, and Sandra LeWarne, all of Farmville, Donna VanCleave and husband, Jon of Midlothian, Robin Thomas and husband, Charlie of Prospect and Billie Dawn Mottley of Richmond; sisters, Jane Chandler and Jim Eanes of Burkeville, Mary Bailey and husband, Ed of Phenix and Martha McCormick and husband, Harry Jr. of Gladstone; sisters-in-law, Mary Lee Chernault, June Chenault, and Sally Lou Mottley; brothers-in-law, Earl Mottley and wife, Nancy, and Haney Mottley and wife, Virginia; 14 grandchildren, two great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews including a devoted nephew, Billy Mottley and wife, Polly of Farmville.

Fay was greatly loved and will be missed by many friends and family.

A funeral service was conducted Sunday, June 7, at Appomattox PE Presbyterian Church with burial in the church cemetery.
