Ernestine Holloman, 85 Of Dillwyn Dies September 15

DILLWYN, Sept. 16 – Ernestine Morgan Holloman, 85, of Dillwyn, widow of Rev. H. Curtis Holloman, died Monday, September 15, 2008.

Ernestine “Teen” is survived by a son, Marc M. Holloman of Roanoke; a daughter, Connie H. King and husband, Russell of Wise, NC; two grandchildren, Brandon R. King of Wise, NC and Jennifer R. King of Greenville, NC; and a brother, John C. Morgan Jr. and wife, Dorothy “Dot”.

Ernestine was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, who loved being with family and friends. She taught school in Caroline County for 16 years and in Buckingham County for 16 years.

She was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Sparta where she lived for 25 years and raised her family. She attended Bethel United Methodist Church since moving back to Buckingham County in 1971 and was an ac-tive member of the Bethel United Methodist Women and the Buckingham Book Club. Her hobbies included cooking, read-ing, and knitting/crocheting.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery in Richmond.

A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church in Andersonville.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3 p.m. until service time at the church.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Bethel UMC, 88 High School Road, Buckingham, VA 23921; Salem Baptist Church, 24032 Sparta Road, Sparta, VA 22552; or Hospice of the Hills, 713 Oak Street, Farmville, VA 23901.
