Emma Oliver, 93

JULY 28 – Emma P. Oliver, 93, of Farmville, passed away Monday evening, July 27, 2009 in Farmville. She was born June 26, 1916 in Prospect, the daughter of the late David and Hattie Watson Ferguson.

She was an employee of Amelia Dress Company for 40 years. She loved all cats and provided a home for many. She loved her family, and dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Fulcher and husband, John of Prospect; five grandchildren, Lynn and wife, Mary Ann, Bobby and wife, Sarah, Ricky and wife, Vicki, Mike and wife, Tracey and Greg; 12 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Baxter Oliver and her son, Richard Baxter (R.B.) Oliver Jr.

A graveside service will be held Friday, July 31, at 11 a.m. at Prospect United Methodist Church.

Family will receive friends Thursday evening 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Puckett Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Glenn Memorial Baptist Church or to the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department.
