Dr. T. LePierre Watson Family Physician
SEPTEMBER 22 – Dr. T. LePierre Watson, entered into the presence of his Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, September 18, 2009. He leaves behind a loving family, brother, Toy Watson of Williamsburg; children, Thomas L. Watson Jr. of Cumberland, Barbara Watson of Blackstone, Kathleen Robinson of Richmond, and Beth Larivee; their mother, Jean Watson; and two grandsons, all of Redlands, CA.
A South Carolina native, Dr. Watson was a WWII Navy Veteran who held degrees from Wheaton College in Illinois and the Medical College of Virginia. During his career as a family physician, Dr. Watson was affiliated with Johnston-Willis Hospital, and maintained practices first, in Henrico County, then in Ashland, in Chesterfield County, and later retired from the Cartersville Medical Center in Cumberland County. Dr. Watson was also a Colonel in the Virginia Defense Force, serving as Chief Medical Officer and Flight Surgeon.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, at Immanuel Baptist Church with family visitation to immediately follow. Interment is private.
The Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
