Douglas Rackliff, 62 Former Pressman Dies April 1 In WA

WASHINGTON, April 28 – Douglas Wayne Rackliff, 62, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009 in Seattle, WA due to illness. Doug was born December 22, 1946 in Winter Harbor, ME and was the second of three boys born to Dorothy and Maurice Rackliff.

He was raised in California, but moved his own family to the Farmville area in 1983 where he lived until 1999. He was employed by Farmville Printing for a number of years as a pressman, a skill in which he supported his family during his adult life.

Doug is survived by his two brothers, Dan Rackliff of ME and Norman Rackliff of Charlotte, NC; two sons, Michael Rackliff of Amherst and Bruce Rackliff of Norfolk; three daughters, Laurie Freeman and Vicki Rackliff both of Hillsborough, NC, and Juliet McKay of Seattle, WA; and three grandchildren, Malachi, Amelia and Elijah Freeman of Hillsborough, NC.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 400 Sixth St., Burkeville.
