Douglas Earl Amos

SEPTEMBER 16 – Douglas Earl Amos, of Dillwyn, died Thursday, September 11, 2008 at his home. He was born July 1, 1956.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Rosemarie Waddell Amos; two sons, Brandon Douglas Amos of Farmville and Jason Earl Amos of Dillwyn; his parents, Earl and Doris Newton Amos of Arvonia; and in-laws, Bobby and Merle Waddell of Currituck, NC.
Doug was an employee of Kyanite Mining Corporation in Dillwyn for 28 years. He served as a Deacon of First Baptist Church in Dillwyn. He also taught Sunday School in his church. He was a past member of the Buckingham Ruritan Club and Fishers of Men. Doug will always be remembered for his humorous jokes and laughter.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 14, at First Baptist Church of Dillwyn with interment in the Dillwyn Town Cemetery.
