MAY 12 – Dorothy Oertel Lynn, 93, of Farmville, died Sunday, May 10, 2009 in Farmville.

Mrs. Lynn was born May 17, 1915 in Cumberland County. She was employed for many years with Deluxe Cleaners.

Survivors include a son, William Lynn of Farmville; two daughters, Ann Hodges and husband, J.D. of Port Aranzas, TX and Mabelle Bloker and husband, Jim of Prague, Czech Republic; two brothers, Willie (Billy) Oertel Jr. and Robert J. Oertel; four sisters, Eliza Duncan of Lynchburg, Minnie Taylor of Savannah, GA, Theresa Shelton and Joyce Ingle, both of Cumberland; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Grote Lynn, parents, Allie Iona Browning Oertel and Willie Oertel Sr., and son, John Lynn.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 13, at Farmville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Chuck Klotzberger officiating. Interment will follow in Cumber-land Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Family and friends will visit at the Shorter Funeral Home of Farmville from 7-8 p.m., Tuesday (tonight).
