TENNESSEE, May 6 – Dan Piercy, 72, of Tazewell, TN, was born on July 23, 1935 and passed away on Friday, May 2, 2008. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Scottsville. He attended church at Lone Mountain Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce. He was a heavy construction operator.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jennings and Florice Piercy and a daughter, Sherri Piercy.

Mr. Piercy is survived by his wife of over 49 years, Dolores Jamerson Piercy of Tazewell, TN; sons, Dan and wife, Sandra Piercy of New Tazewell, TN and Shane Piercy of Kingston, TN; grandchildren, Kyla, Beraya, and Gage Piercy; brother, Gerry Piercy and wife, Darlene of New Canton; sisters, Lois Ott and husband, Bud of New Canton; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Saturday, May 10, at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, Arvonia, with funeral services to follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. James Davenport officiating. Music will be provided by Gail and Robert Noble. Burial will be in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Arvonia.
