Charles 'Lad' McWee, 91 World War II Veteran, Dies December 30

JANUARY 19 – Charles “Lad” McWee, 91, of Farmville, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009. He was born in Washington, Pennsylvania on July 5, 1918.
He is survived by a sister, Thelma Sellers; three children, Charles McWee (Barbara), Wayne McWee (Deborah), and Joyce Leveno; five grandchildren, Kim Wright (Mark), Tammy MacEachern (John), Andrea Parson (Andrew), Allison Newton (Mark) and David McWee (Stephanie); and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Harriet and two sisters, Ruth Dyer and Genieve Runyan.
Mr. McWee was a World War II veteran serving in the Pacific earning two bronze stars.
A memorial service will be held at the Farmville United Methodist Church on January 22 at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends after the service from 3:30 until 5 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the church.
A final service of committal will be held at the Spring Hill Cemetery, Fargo, Michigan.
