APPOMATTOX, April 14 – Chad Phillip Pierce, 35, of Appomattox, went to be with our Lord and Savior, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident, Sunday, April 12, 2009. Born in Lynchburg, December 3, 1973, he was the son of Foster Lee (Jimmy) and Helen Johnson (Sis) Pierce of Appomattox.

Chad was a member of Bible Baptist Church and a 1993 graduate of Timberlake Christian School. He was employed in the family business, Pierce & Johnson Lumber Co., of Dillwyn.

In addition to his parents Jimmy and Sis, he is survived by his five year old daughter, Hannah Lethco of Appomattox; two brothers, Timothy W. Pierce and wife, Patsy of Appomattox and their children, Kevin and Christy; Mark F. Pierce and wife, Beth of Evington and their children, Derek, Justin, & Blake; two sisters, Deborah Pierce Goin of Appomattox and her children, Scott, Jason, Jaime and husband, Michael; Lori and husband, Rodney and their children, Juliana, Holly and Brady; and Liz Pierce Creasy and husband, Roger of Evington and their children, Cody and Colton.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bernice A. and Earlie Davidson Johnson and paternal grandparents, Lonnie and Pauline Moschler Pierce.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 15, in Bible Baptist Church by the Rev. Robert E. Lee, the Rev. Steve Lamb and the Rev. Jeff Worley. Burial will follow in Old Herman Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Bible Baptist Church today (Tuesday) from 6-8 p.m. and other times at the home of his parents.
