APPOMATTOX, August 19 -Carol M. Campbell, 57, of Appomattox, died Sunday, August 15, 2004 In Farmvllle.
Mrs. Campbell was an independent Avon Representative for over 30 years. In 1995, the local chapter of the American Business Women's Association, named her “Woman of The Year”. She served as president and chairman of several committees and was very active in the ABWA. She worked with the Civil Air Patrol as an information officer and was promoted to State of Virginia Information Officer and was given the rank of captain.
She is survived by her husband, James Miles Campbell;
three sisters, Betty Tucker of Lynchburg, Emily Allie of Montvale and Janet Mortiner of Roanoke; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lynn and Lisa Campbell of Lawrenceville and John and Lori Campbell of South Hill; brother-in-law and wife, Bobby and Nell Campbell of Chase City; two grandchildren, Chelsia and Justin Campbell: several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son. Randy Betterton.
A service of memorial was held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Johns Memorial Episcopal Church in Farmvllle.

Doyne-Burger-Davis Funeral Home, Farmvllle, was in charge of arrangements.
