ARVONIA, Sept. 21 – Beverly R. Stevens, 51, of Arvonia, died Friday, September 17, 2004 in Richmond.

She was born April 29, 1953 in Waynesboro, a daughter of the late Prentice L. and Alice Samson Ralston.

She was an employee of Buckingham Correctional Center since March 16, 1985.

She is survived by her children, Preston S. Stevens and wife, Heather of Farmvllle, Christopher B. Stevens of Creimore and Stephanie Whitlow of Waynesboro; her sisters, Patricia Wood of Staunton and Charlene Campbell of Waynesboro;her brothers. Prentice Ralston of Spotsylvania, Sammy and Cary Ralston both of Waynesboro; her grandchildren, Tyger and Alyce Whitlow and Samantha Stevens and her devoted friends, Mrs. H. Y. Davis, Mrs. Annie Mulder, Mrs. Darlene Baker, Mrs. Melinda Fisher. Mr. Willie Hartwill, Mrs. Deborah Brooks and Mr. Dennis Stevens.

A funeral service was held Sunday at 5 p.m. in the Chapel of Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville. A graveside service was held today (Tuesday) at 11 a.m. in Port Republic Cemetery.
