Alice Hudson, 72

FEBRUARY 24 – Alice Ragland Hudson, 72, of Farmville died Thursday, February 19, 2009. She was born February 26, 1936 in Buckingham County. Alice loved the Lord and looked forward to entering Heaven's gates after battling COPD for many years. Alice was an accomplished seamstress, best known for her impeccable style and grace. She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Estelle Ragland, her sister, Jean Taylor and her brother, Roger Ragland.

She is survived by her loving daughter and long-time care taker, Penny Hammock and husband, Richard of Farmville; daughter, Kathy Miller and husband, Charles J. “Buck” Miller Jr. of Westminster, MD and son, Wayne Gough and wife, Linda of Green Bay; six grandchildren, Rachael and Madalyn Hammock, Matthew and Kaitlyn Davis, Lillian Gough and Shane Gough Vencil; a great-granddaughter, Shelby Grace Vencil; brother, Alton Ragland and wife, Caryl Anne of Rockville; sisters, Joyce Wetzler of Richmond and Doris Taylor and husband, Stuart of Fredericksburg.

A funeral service was held Sunday, Feb. 22 at the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Wirt, presiding. Interment followed at Meherrin Baptist Church Cemetery.
