Rites Wednesday For Agnes M. Nimmo, 85 Of Farmville

JUNE 24 – Agnes McPherson Nimmo, 85, of Farmville passed away Wednesday morning, June 23, 2010 in Farmville. She was born August 11, 1924 in Erie, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late James and Ann Pollack Nimmo.

Ms. Nimmo lived most of her life in Scotland before moving back to the United States. She worked at Holly Manor Nursing Home for many years as a nurse's aid. She also worked at Armstrong Furniture Company in Appomattox. Ms. Nimmo was a member of Concord Baptist Church and had a strong faith in the Lord.

She is survived by her nieces, Margaret Carey and husband, Walt of Lynchburg and Alexis Jean Hughes and husband, Lewis of Girard, Pennsylvania and their children, Jill Hughes and her daughter, Jennifer; John Hughes and his children, Josephine and Alex and Cheryl Wright and her children, Logan and Molly Ann; a nephew, Bob Lennox of Canada and nieces and nephews, Paul, Tommy and Ann all of Canada and numerous friends, church family and her beloved Mennonite families. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Margaret Fife, Jean Lennox and Alex Nimmo.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 30, at 10 a.m. at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, June 29, from 6-8 p.m. at the Puckett Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Concord Baptist Church.
